Library Happenings
September 2023
Hispanic Heritage Month
From Sep 15 – Oct 15, we’re celebrating the culture, contributions, and heritage of Hispanic Americans with virtual and in-person programs, booklists, and activity ideas. Join us!
Bookmark Contest
Starting on September 5, kids and teens throughout Los Angeles County can submit creative designs for a chance to have their bookmark printed and distributed at all of our libraries.
Citizenship Resources
Citizenship Day (Sep 17) encourages current and future US citizens to reflect on their rights and responsibilities. Our resources can help you or someone you love on their path to citizenship.
Library Fest
In September and October, 10 libraries are hosting special events that are all about bringing our friends and neighbors back into our libraries. Join us for an afternoon filled with fun, free activities for all ages!
Library Card Sign Up Month
We’re giving away a free bag and pencil pouch to anyone who signs up for a new card at a library this month, or adds their email address to an existing account! Available while supplies last.
Trailblazers in Conversation
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, join us for a virtual conversation with First District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, who will discuss issues like immigration, student debt relief, services for older adults, and more.
