Library History

Thanks to a generous grant from the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors, the East Bookmobile began service in March 2001 in order to bring the Library’s services to urban residents of Los Angeles County.

The East Bookmobile service area, encompassing supervisorial district 1, serves the cities and unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County: Azusa, East Los Angeles, La Puente, Hacienda Heights, Pomona, and Rowland Heights.

At 27 feet in length, the bookmobile can accommodate 2,500 titles or more and is wheelchair accessible.
