LA County Library Hosts Vaccine Clinics at Select Libraries, Providing Free Flu Shots, Updated 2023-2024 COVID-19 Vaccines, and Mpox Vaccines

In Partnership with LA County Department of Public Health,
Clinics Run Through December 20

Free Vaccine Clinics

LA County Library is partnering with the LA County Department of Public Health to provide flu vaccinations, the updated 2023-24 COVID-19 vaccine, and Mpox vaccine at clinics taking place throughout the fall at select libraries. Health insurance is not required, however insurance card information is required for those who are insured. Immigration status will not be requested.

The CDC recommends the 2023–2024 updated COVID-19 vaccines to protect against serious illness from COVID-19. LA County Department of Public Health recommends flu vaccinations for everyone 6 months of age and over, including healthy children and adults. The flu vaccine has been shown to reduce flu-related illnesses and the risk of serious flu complications that can result in hospitalization or even death.

The Mpox vaccine is only available to eligible groups. The updated 2023-24 COVID-19 vaccine is available to all persons 6 months of age and over. For more information about eligibility, please visit: LACountyLibrary.org/VaccineClinics.

Vaccine Clinics will be held at select LA County Library locations through December 20. Walk-ins are accepted, but customers are encouraged to make appointments online at myturn.ca.gov to avoid longer wait times. Vaccines are available while supplies last. Vaccine brands are subject to availability, and we are unable to guarantee them at this time.

“Vaccines remain a powerful tool that help reduce risks associated with respiratory and other illnesses. Approaching fall and winter, we know that some people are at greater risk for severe illness and are grateful that the LA County Library is making it easy for residents to get vaccinated,” said Barbara Ferrer, PhD, MPH, MEd, Director, LA County Department of Public Health.

“Prioritizing the well-being of our communities, our partnership with Public Health ensures access to vital vaccines,” said LA County Library Director Skye Patrick. “LA County residents are empowered to safeguard their loved ones amidst rising COVID-19 cases and the onset of flu season.”
