Adopt A Shelter Dog Month
Give a shelter dog a second chance! We’ve partnered with Animal Care & Control to host adoption clinics at libraries in October. We also have Read to a Dog programs, allowing kids a chance to practice reading in a no-judgment environment.

Teen Read Month
Join us in a month-long celebration of all things related to teens and reading. We are hosting Teens Unite Symposium on the Freedom to Read on Saturday, October 11 from 10 am – 1 pm at 10 libraries across LA County for a conversation on censorship, book bans, and the freedom to read.

Freedom To Read
We believe that reading is a fundamental right that empowers individuals, fosters understanding, and opens doors to countless opportunities. Join us in celebrating Banned Books Week, October 5 – 11, and stop by your local library to pick up a sticker and bookmark to share your support.

The Californians Powering America
Visit San Fernando Library and La Canada Flintridge Library from Oct 16 – Dec 31 for a vivid photo exhibit spotlighting immigrant workers in key CA industries, created with Magnum Photographers & Economic Hardship Reporting Project.
