Resources for Superior Court Customers

Superior Court Customers can access helpful library resources, programs, and services across 49 cities and all of the unincorporated areas of LA County through our network of 85 community libraries. From free public computer access and Wi-Fi to printing and a robust offering of databases and online tools, we feature a variety of services that support your informational and technology needs.

Location & Hours

Libraries located in unincorporated areas of LA County are open 6 days per week:
Monday – Thursday
10 am – 8 pm
Friday – Saturday
10 am – 6 pm

Most of our libraries located in cities are open 5 days per week:
Tuesday – Wednesday
12 – 8 pm
Thursday – Saturday
10 am – 6 pm
*Select locations are open on Sundays.

Please note all locations are closed for County holidays.

Access to Free PCs, Wi-Fi, Printing & Photocopying

All libraries offer PC workstations for public use. Computers are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Computer use is limited to two 1-hour sessions, for a total of 2 hours per day. Library computers all have access to Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Reader, VLC Media Player, and Picture Viewer. Library computers are self-serve. Staff can provide basic directional assistance for technology, including helping customers to log on to a computer, navigate to a website, or provide instructions for how to print. Computers are not eligible for reservations.

We offer unlimited free Wi-Fi access at our libraries. Wi-Fi extends to outdoor areas and parking lots in many locations.

All Library PCs have access to a public printer. Additionally, wireless printing is available for customers to print directly from their own laptops, tablets, or mobile devices. Photocopiers are available at all locations. All customers can print or photocopy a total of 10 free pages per day. Each additional page is $0.15.

How to Get a Library Card

The digital and physical resources of LA County Library are available to library cardholders. Library cards are available for free to permanent and temporary residents of California.

Laptop & Hotspot Loan

Adult customers in good standing can check out a Chromebook with built-in LTE  or wireless hotspot to access the internet, from any library location. Laptops and Hotspots may be checked out for 6 weeks, with the option to renew, if available.

Study & Meeting Rooms

Many libraries have study rooms that are available to individuals and small groups of 4-6 people on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that study rooms offer a more private setting than the main floor of the library but are not soundproof. Please contact community libraries for local procedures and availability.

As a benefit to our communities, LA County Library makes meeting and conference rooms available to the public at 60 of our locations. Although library-sponsored activities take priority, individuals and groups will be accommodated based on availability.

LA County Library offers a broad array of online resources, including a wealth of self-help legal information and professional development videos and courses.
