LA County Library’s popular Summer Discovery Program is back and better than ever, kicking off June 2 and running through August 10, 2025. This annual celebration of reading and learning invites readers of all ages to dive into books, complete fun challenges, attend library programs, and earn chances to win exciting prizes including tickets to Raging Waters, California’s largest water park.

How It Works:

“This summer, we’re excited to offer families new ways to connect, discover, and enjoy creative learning experiences together through our Summer Discovery Program,” said Skye Patrick, County Librarian at LA County Library. “By rewarding readers, we’re encouraging lifelong learning, exploration, and joy throughout the summer months.”

Participants who complete the program will be eligible to win a 4-pack of tickets to Raging Waters, giving families a fun way to beat the summer heat. Most of the Library’s 86 locations will also host special events and programs throughout the summer, ranging from magic shows and STEM workshops to storytime events and art activities. Families can browse upcoming events using the Library’s online calendar, which can be filtered by age group and location.

Whether you’re an advanced reader or just getting started, LA County Library’s Summer Discovery Program makes it easy and fun to stay engaged this summer.
