Celebrity Chef Roy Choi Headlines Manhattan Beach Library’s Spring Speaker Series
Award-winning chef celebrates new cookbook, culinary innovation, and community at special event
Manhattan Beach Library, in partnership with the City of Manhattan Beach, is excited to announce an engaging conversation with acclaimed chef, entrepreneur, and cultural pioneer, Roy Choi on Saturday, May 17 at 11 am at Mira Costa High School Auditorium. Choi will discuss his culinary journey, the intersection of food and community, and introduce his newly released cookbook, The Choi of Cooking.
Chef Roy Choi, best known for sparking the modern food truck revolution through Kogi BBQ, which blends the rich culinary traditions of South Korea with vibrant Southern California flavors. His new cookbook, The Choi of Cooking (released April 15), emphasizes accessible ways to cook and eat healthy without sacrificing flavor. From flavorful, indulgent recipes such as the Kimchi Philly Cheesesteak to wholesome dishes like Roasted Cauliflower Steaks with Harissa and Garlic Herbed Butter, the book inspires readers to embrace healthier eating through manageable steps
The first 500 attendees to check in can enjoy a free taco from Choi’s famed Kogi Korean BBQ truck with a vegetarian option available. Attendees can purchase books on-site courtesy of {pages} bookstore.
