Since 1980, LA County Library’s annual Bookmark Contest has encouraged young people’s artistic expression and love for reading. For our 46th Annual Contest, which launched in Fall 2025, we received more than 9,000 submissions from across Los Angeles County! We were blown away by the talent on display.

Each of our libraries selected its top local winners for each grade category (K – 2, 3 – 5, 6 – 8, and 9 – 12), with input from library staff and community judges. Those local winners were then forwarded to the LA County Board of Supervisors where each supervisor chose one winning bookmark to represent their district for each category.
