Friends are people who share a passion for reading, a love for their community, and a strong appreciation of libraries. They are interested in fundraising and promoting awareness of the library within their communities. Friends of the Library support their local LA County Library by:
- Holding fundraising events such as book sales
- Sponsoring and staffing library events
- Helping to recruit volunteers
Friends of the Library are self-supporting non-profit entities. Membership is open to anyone interested in helping to enhance library services in their community.
Many LA County Library locations proudly host Friends of the Library groups. Over 70 groups have thousands of members, and growing!
To learn how to become a Friend, contact your local LA County Library.
Friends of the Library Bookstores
