What is Library Lovers’ Month all about?
National Library Lovers’ Month is in February, and it’s dedicated to guess who? Yes, people who love their libraries for all they do for them — whether it’s giving them professional skills development, joining community-based events, or just providing a quiet, comfy place to read or stream TV shows for a few hours.
Library Lovers’ Month happens in February because love is already in the air for Valentine’s Day!
This Library Lovers’ Month, we hope everyone can:
Dive into a Sea of Stories
Immerse yourself in captivating tales and literary wonders. Our collection of books spans various genres, ensuring there’s something for every reader. Whether you’re a fan of fiction, non-fiction, mystery, romance, or fantasy, find your next favorite read at the library. Check out our Booklists page for recommendations. Some of our libraries have a special “Blind Date with a Book” display, call your local library to check.
Engage in Events for All Ages
Join us for exciting events designed for readers of all ages. From Smarty Pants Storytime for kids to book clubs for adults, there’s an event for everyone. Connect with fellow book lovers, share your thoughts on beloved stories, and make new literary friends.
Share Your Library Love
Share your love for libraries on social media! Tag us on social media @LACountyLibrary and let your friends know why libraries hold a special place in your heart. Whether it’s the cozy reading nooks, the wealth of knowledge, or the sense of community, celebrate and spread the Library Love.
Support Your Local Library!
Show your support for your local library by giving back through our Library Foundation. You can also volunteer at your local library. Your support enhances the delivery of much needed library services for youth and adults. Help us continue to be a haven for readers and learners.

What do you love about LA County Library?
Winners need to pick up their water bottle from their local LA County Library location; items will not be mailed. By commenting on giveaway posts, participants grant permission for the Library to use their social media handle or name in Library promotional materials; winners’ social media handles will be shared. If the winner does not pick up their water bottle within 3 weeks of being notified, they automatically forfeit their reward. No purchase necessary. While supplies last.
