Get inspired by the dedication of those who fought for women’s right to vote and the passing of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution by creating your own Ratification Star Box.
Did you know that after the US Congress passed the 19th Amendment in 1920, it needed to be approved, or ratified, by 36 of the 48 states? When a state voted to ratify the amendment, the National Woman’s Party sewed a star on their purple, white, and gold Ratification Banner. The last star was sewn on August 18, 1920, when the 36th state ratified the 19th Amendment!
