Tunnel Books, small, three-dimensional books inspired by stage sets, are fun and sculptural book forms. In this hands-on workshop lead by Claremont-based poet and artist Genevieve Kaplan, we’ll explore the possibilities of this exciting form and make our own Valentine’s Day-themed tunnel books, using overlapping layers to create unique visual environments. The Tunnel Book you complete in this workshop might be a perfect Valentine to give to a friend or loved one, or a beautiful piece to display in your home.

All instructions and materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring:

· photographs of friends, pets, or loved ones to feature in your tunnel book*

· a pair of scissors

· creativity and enthusiasm

*finished Tunnel Books will be 4×6″

This workshop is appropriate for ages 14 and up. Younger children are welcome to participate with an adult partner.
