Sandra (Marion Cotillard), a young Belgian mother near the end of a medical leave while battling depression, discovers that her co-workers at a solar panel factory have opted to function with one less worker in their unit in exchange for a significant pay bonus. Their supervisor, who wants to get rid of Sandra, selects her as the odd worker out.
