Event Details

Our February Kanopy Film Club celebrates African American History Month with a screening of legendary director Melvin Van Peeble’s 1967 film The Story of a 3-Day Pass.

An African American soldier stationed in Europe encounters racism from his superiors following his idyllic 3-day affair with a young French woman. The Story of a 3-Day Pass is the first major film by a black director to be released in the U.S.

Light refreshments provided courtesy of Los Amigos of East Los Angeles Library.
