Join us for a fun and informative introduction to Korea, a dynamic country with a rich history, vibrant present, and boundless future. Currently K-Pop stars dominate the music charts while Korean corporations are at the forefront of business and tech. But the roots of today’s success lies in the distant past; Korea boasts innovations such as the first printing press, astronomical maps, and easiest alphabet (Hangul). Come learn about a country with a fascinating history that will shape the world’s future. You will also be treated to a traditional Korean dessert!*

Presenter Matthew Jackson has been travelling to Korea since 2002, and has witnessed the country’s transformation from an industrial to cultural powerhouse. He has also studied and edited many publications on the history and culture of Korea, and is a passionate advocate of raising awareness of Eastern studies in the West.

For ages 12 and up. Presented in partnership with the Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project.

*Refreshments provided while supplies last on a first come, first serve basis.
