Glass fusing is an early art form which dates back to ancient Egypt and Rome. Come make a colorful fused glass ornament while you learn some of the science and history of this magical medium. Visiting artist, Kristin duCharme, will help you create a fused glass collage by arranging and layering small bits of colored glass using tweezers and glue. The collages will then be taken back to her glass studio and fused together in the heat of a large kiln. Your finished ornaments will be ready for you to pick up a couple of weeks later at the library.

La fusión de vidrio es una forma de arte temprana que se remonta al antiguo Egipto y Roma. Venga a hacer un adorno de vidrio fundido colorido mientras aprende algo de la ciencia y la historia de este medio mágico. La artista visitante, Kristin duCharme, lo ayudará a crear un collage de vidrio fundido organizando y colocando pequeños pedazos de vidrio coloreado con pinzas y pegamento. Los collages serán llevados a su estudio de cristal y fusionados en el calor de un gran horno. Sus adornos estarán listos para que los recoja un par de semanas después en la biblioteca.
