Take it from the top! In this three-week workshop, participants will learn the basics of filmmaking, including how to operate cameras, green screens, and video editing software. Registration begins May 28.


About Film Fest: Lights, Camera, Action! Children and teens are invited to participate in La Mirada Library Film Fest by creating a short film dramatizing a favorite book. Have fun and be unique as you and your friends stage your favorite story!  Films (live action, animated, or stop motion animated) should be limited to 90 seconds. Adult assistance is permitted, but films should be creatively driven by and starring children/teens. Group submissions are encouraged; only one film per child/group will be accepted. Films must be suitable for a general audience.

Submission deadline is July 16. Entries must be submitted in .mp4  format, accompanied by an entry form and photo release for all participants. Films will premiere at the library on July 30; prizes will be awarded for 1st-3rd. New to the biz? Attend the information session and/or workshops to learn more about the the program and the process of filmmaking. Space is limited; registration is required.
