This month’s Classic Book Club selection was published in 1962. The story is set in a Soviet labor camp in the 1950’s and describes a single day in the life of ordinary prisoner Ivan Denisovich Shukhov. The author, Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1972.
Copies of the book are available at Alondra Library. New members are welcome. Refreshments will be served.
