Published in 1722, this month’s classic book, Moll Flanders, is a story about the rise and fall of a beautiful woman who was born in prison and her struggles with poverty and sin in search of property and power. It purports to be the true account of the life of a woman named Moll. Author Defoe had become famous the year before for Robinson Crusoe.
Read or listen to Moll Flanders and then join in for a light discussion and refreshments. Copies of the book are available at the library, or as a downloadable ebook or audiobook at lacountylibrary.overdrive.com.
