Read and discuss An American Sunrise: Poems written by the current U.S. Poet Laureate, Joy Harjo. In 2019, Harjo made history by becoming the first Native American U.S. Poet Laureate. She is an enrolled member of the Mvskoke Nation and is known for her poetry, books, plays, and music.

Copies of the book are available for checkout at the American Indian Resource Center or may be requested to be sent to your nearest LA County Library location. Copies may also be downloaded as an e-book at LACountyLibrary.org
