Read and discuss An American Sunrise: Poems written by the current U.S. Poet Laureate, Joy Harjo. In 2019, Harjo made history by becoming the first Native American U.S. Poet Laureate. She is an enrolled member of the Mvskoke Nation and is known for her poetry, books, plays, and music.
