Largely nocturnal, bobcats are seldom seen. However, their wide-ranging habitat includes portions of the Santa Monica Mountains and the wildland urban interface. As development increases and road networks expand, bobcats face increasing challenges in these areas. Learn about current bobcat research and how you can support local bobcat populations.
Cathy Schoonmaker, a biologist with the Santa Monica Mountains Fund, will talk about National Park Service (NPS) research of bobcats living on the edges of urban development. The NPS has been continuously studying and tracking bobcats since 1996.
