Celebrate Cesar Chavez - Golden State Recipe Contest
California is “America’s Salad Bowl” because of the many food crops grown here. To honor both the farm workers who help bring those products to our tables, and César Chávez, the Union Organizer and activist who helped make their lives better, we are holding an original recipe contest featuring ingredients grown, raised, and produced in the Golden State.
You may create and submit a recipe in one of the following categories: Appetizer, Main Dish, or Dessert. There will be both a category for entries submitted by children ages 8 - 17, and adults, 18 years and over. Recipes will be judged by library staff.
Pick up an entry form with more information at the Reference desk. Recipes must be submitted no later than Thursday, March 22, 2018. Winners will be notified by Friday, March 30, 2018.
