iCount Film for Kids: The Color of Friendship

Winner of an Emmy, the NAACP Image Award, and Children's Media Award, this film explores issues of prejudice, race, apartheid, global relations, and bias.

Based on a true story, in 1977 the family of an African American congressman host a foreign exchange student from South Africa, allowing both girls to confront issues of personal biases and institutional racism. 

Recommended for Grades 3 and up. Rated G, running time 90 minutes.
